Ebonyi Poultry Farmers Aim High As Govt Seals Partnership With Off Takers, Anchor Borrower

In continuation of Ebonyi State government determined efforts to diversify the state economy, especially the Agricultural sector, the state through the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Chief Okechukwu Nwakpu and the livestock development committee has attracted the partnership of off takers for poultry business in the state. 

This was the outcome of a meeting with government officials, poultry farmers, Permanent Secretary State Ministry of Agriculture, officials of CBN, NIRSAL Bank and investors in livestock business.

The Deputy Chief of Staff in his welcome remark said the state Government desire for the partnership was to provide funds in form of loan to farmers including youths to engage to engage them meaningfully to enhance household income generate revenue and as well make them employers of labour.

Other speakers including Mr. Daniel Ogbogu of CBN, Clement Anoliefoh of NIRSAL Bank and Mr. Fela Oguntoye and Yunusa alaba of Amo Byng Nig. Ltd, Amos farm, Sieberer Hachery and Natnundo foods, commended Governor Umahi led administration in its vision to empower her people. They pledged to assist in the development of the state agric sector.

The intensive meeting resolved to empower accredited poultry farmers with both financial and support for mass production of poultry in Ebonyi State. The team also visited the state hatchery farm with plans to help resuscitate the farm for greater productivity. Also present at the meeting are the SA to the Governor on Live Stock Production Mr. Bede Nwali and the SA on Industrial Cluster, Ebony Central, Hon Edwin Okah.
