The National Boundary Commission(NBC) has waded into the protracted boundary dispute between the people of Ekoli Edda in Afikpo South local government area of Ebonyi State and their neighbours in Erei, Cross River State.

This is coming three months after the Nigeria Senate through a motion moved by the Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Chief Micheal Ama-Nnachi, directed the boundary commission to urgently wade into the boundary dispute and resolve it to avert further loss of lives and destruction of properties.

As part of efforts towards resolving the protracted boundary dispute, the National Boundary Commission has been meeting with concerned stakeholders from both states in Abuja in the last three days.

Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi state, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, who led some stakeholders from Ebonyi state to the meeting noted that absolute peace will be achieved only when the two states are willing to make sacrifices.
